I am a proud native Texan born in the great city of San Antonio. After graduating from high school in San Antonio, I moved to Central Texas where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, minor in Chemistry. After being accepted to graduate school in North Texas, I obtained my Master of Science with a concentration in Biochemistry. A job opportunity moved me to Austin in 2005 where I fell in love with the capital of Texas.

In 2011, a job opportunity brought me to Ohio, with a final move permanently returning me back to Austin in 2013. My career has been in the healthcare industry where services and technology have bettered the lives of countless people. Communication is the most valuable skill I’ve learned in both my personal and professional life. Bringing people together to achieve desired outcomes is inherent in who I am.

After becoming a new father in 2018 to a set of twin kids, I quickly learned the importance of being part of a good school district. The Round Rock school district, the local school ratings plus the importance of community led me to moving closer to the school I desired for my children 2023. Planning for the future is important to me, especially when it comes to my children’s education. As I became involved with their daily school activities, it became more evident that education should be about reading, writing, math and science. Supporting teachers who teach the fundamentals of education is key to every child’s educational success. I learned early in my work career that one who can master literacy and comprehension has an easier time of communicating and applying the learned material.

Experiences in both my personal life and work life have led me to bring people together through intentional dialogue. A trait of good leadership is to set ego or bias aside-be it with family, colleagues, superiors, subordinates or fellow trustees. Having intentional dialogue and abandoning bias allow for productive decision-making and successful outcomes. These leadership skills have allowed me to be successful in both personal and work relationships, and these are the attributes I plan to bring to the RRISD Board of Trustees if elected. My goal as a Trustee is to adopt policies reflective of the community and to effectively communicate the overall success back to parents and stakeholders. Another important goal is to create and adhere to a fiscally responsible school budget as well as approving a set tax rate.
